Girls Room With Touch Of 60’s

Girls Room With Touch Of 60’s

* All features designed by Saka-Laka

Teenage girl’s room reflects the end of 50’s and beginning of 60’s, the time when glamorous housewives are transformed into liberal and more open minded women but still with a lot sense of elegance and femininity, such as this interior with mid-century modern design. Through the French classicism and vintage decor, the interior slightly emphasizes the arrival of pop art and Andy Warhol whose work was put into the interior through style icon Audrey Hepburn from the famous movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s made in 1961. Some of the decorating ideas are also borrowed from the movie, such as original zebra-print rug and an idea of vintage stacking boxes for extra storage.

The whole interior gives an impression of almost a contemporary interior with cube ceiling LED light, dropped ceiling with hidden LED lighting and black painted stripe for visual elevation.  Dominated white walls, mirrored built-in wardrobe and interesting frustum of pyramid shaped mirror on the wall.

Some vintage features still present in 50’s (vintage white wood flooring, wooden wall panels, vintage shelves, antique reproduction of phonograph gramophone with steel brass horn, Louis XVI reproduction of an antique chair, modern replica of Louis XV dressing table and small night tables) are combined with elements of 60’s such as an indication of ”groovy” wallpaper and a modern pink armchair. Influence of pop art is present through Andy Warhol artwork on the wall and some of the main pop-art rules: white floor and walls, black outlines, Plexiglas door on built-in wardrobe, mirrors and shiny materials (silver satin curtains and bed sheet). This eclectic combination of styles together with contemporary design make the whole interior look as one piece of work.

Cleverly Used Attic Bedroom

Cleverly Used Attic Bedroom

* All features designed by Saka-Laka

Attic rooms are usually the most appealing interiors in the whole house, even though we can not tell for sure what draws us to them so much. Some people unconsciously correlate them with secret rooms, or even with large playgrounds. Either way, they have a special charm, and a warm feel that seems to follow you around, even after you leave them. Designing such a space comes with its many challenges. That is why we decided to try and make things easier for you with non expensive interior decor. Cleverly making use of all available space is achieved through the roof slopes – embedded closet on one entire wall surface.

Scandinavian decor of breathness of space, spaced out furniture and blank corners, providing a resting space for the eye. Simple trick with adding an accent with the front wall (painted grey stripes, black in front of the wall, interesting artwork) and a small industrial touch with an old wooden beam with a steel lampshade just make this bedroom more interesting.
